As part of Variety's continuing efforts to spotlight the brightest new stars on both sides of the camera and in all corners of the world, the international entertainment business newspaper will host its latest initiative, in partnership with the inaugural Cancun International Film Festival – LATIN AMERICAN FILMMAKERS: UP NEXT.
 
This cross-section of directors, writers, cinematographers, actors and producers will underline the explosion of creative energy that has been emanating from Latin America. With the tremendous critical and popular response to directors such as Guillermo Del Toro, Alfonso Cuaron and Alexandro Gonzales Inarritu, the “UP Next” looks to celebrate the up and coming talent from the region.
